Week of Service: Foster Pantry, Plastic Ocean Project - WilmingtonJune 24, 2022
June 24, 2022
The Mungo Homes Foundation is proud to recap the first-ever Week of Service, which took place June 20-24th. With a tradition of giving back to the community and adhering to the Mission Statement of "To serve so that others are empowered to thrive," Mungo Homes Team Members used company-allotted paid volunteer hours to assist the Plastic Ocean Project by sorting plastic waste removed from local beaches and roadways so that it can be recycled and repurposed within the community. In addition, Team Members packed backpacks with donated school supplies collected during a two-week drive for Foster Pantry, which educates the community on ways to help caregivers and children in foster care.
About the Mungo Homes Foundation
The Mungo Homes Foundation was established in 2021 with the sole mission of improving the communities in which Mungo builds by providing economic, educational, health, housing, and emergency hardship support for events such as natural disasters. A portion of each home sold is contributed to the Foundation and is invested in the local community of that home.
Week of Service is a company-wide initiative across all nine Markets where Mungo builds. In total, 1,023.50 volunteer hours were clocked throughout the week. Local organizations were nominated by local Mungo Team Members and selected by each local Mungo Homes Foundation Board of Advisors based on qualifying criteria.
Charitable organizations may be considered by invitation only.
