Mungo Homes Honors New Community’s Namesake at their Grand OpeningMay 22, 2024
May 22, 2024
On May 1, 2024, Mungo Homes held a Grand Opening for their new Springfield, Georgia community, Lonadine. The community is named after Mrs. Lonadine Webb, whose family is the backbone of the business community in Effingham County. Mrs. Webb, who passed away shortly before the opening of the neighborhood, was honored at the event with the planting of a magnolia tree. Her family members were in attendance and each took turns laying dirt for the memorial tree.
Following the tree planting, guests were welcome to explore the now-open McDowell model home, featuring four bedrooms and two-and-one-half bathrooms. In addition to this floorplan, Lonadine offers eight other floorplans for residents to enjoy, ranging from 1,548 to 2,833 square feet. Unlike other builders, Mungo Homes gives homeowners the opportunity to pick their own homesite, floorplan, and finishes.
The amenities available at Lonadine make this community shine. Residents have access to a playground, dog park, pickleball court, picnic shelter, and firepit. Lonadine is conveniently located directly across from Effingham County Middle School and High School and is only a short drive from shopping and dining in nearby Pooler, Georgia. If you are looking for a relaxed pace and peaceful environment, look no further than Lonadine.

About Mungo Homes
The Mungo family started building new homes in Columbia, South Carolina in 1954, and now builds in nine Markets throughout South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia. While still family-run today with Steven Mungo as CEO, Mungo Homes proudly became part of the Berkshire-Hathaway family of companies in 2018, and remains dedicated to creating quality, comfortable spaces for you to call home.
While Mungo Homes has won countless awards on local, state, and the national level – including America’s Best Builder 2012 by Builder magazine, the National Green Advocate of the Year and the National Housing Quality Award, what makes us most proud is the many letters and emails we receive from homeowners saying how much they love their home.
In addition, we have a long tradition of improving the communities in which we build, and through the Mungo Homes Foundation provide economic, educational, health, housing, and emergency hardship support to charitable organizations. A portion of each home sold is invested in the local community.
Mungo Homes sold more than 3,800 homes across the footprint in 2023, with revenue topping $1.2B. The company looks forward to going vertical in the Charlotte market in late 2024.
