Mungo Homes is pleased to announce that it will donate some 62 acres to Pender County for its continued usage by high school cross country teams, private and public educators for science field trips, and the general public as a nature park to walk/hike. Abbey Preserve, which was previously privately owned, is part of a 242-acre tract that was purchased by Mungo Homes who launched an in-depth, year-long $100,000 study of the Preserve to discover archeological findings and understand the history of the land.
Mungo Homes Market President, Scott Bowser, said, “We’ve been hard at work to ensure that Pender County residents will be pleased with not only the conservation improvements but also the safely improvements of this local jewel. We are thrilled to be able to turn over to Pender County such an amenity that folks will be able to enjoy for many years.”
Mungo is excited about the relocation of the parking area, which will be much-improved, along with a bathroom facility, picnic shelter, and play area. Accessed off Scotts Hill Loop Road, the park will be located within the 64 acres that Mungo will develop and be known as Indigo at Abbey Preserve.
