Careers Join the family at Mungo Homes
We don't hire people, we adopt them!
— Steven Mungo, CEO
When you work at Mungo Homes, we want you to feel like part of the family. And that’s exactly what our Team Members say!
At Mungo Homes, "company culture is non-negotiable."*
We believe in a healthy work-life balance and that family and faith come before career. Time off promotes a healthy mindset and a happy personal life. In addition, we are pleased to provide the services of a Corporate Chaplain in each of our Markets, who has a regular schedule to visit the office to minister to the needs of our Team Members. Whether it’s officiating a wedding or funeral, support during a hospital stay, conflict resolution or simply sharing the latest photos of children or grandchildren, our Chaplaincy Team provides comfort, support and friendship. Mungo Homes Ranks #5 Top Work Place in the U.S.
Mungo Homes is pleased to announce that it has been ranked as the #5 Top Work Place in the U.S. among companies with 500 – 999 employees, in an annual survey sponsored by Energage and USA TODAY!
According to CEO Steven Mungo, “Company culture comes first for us. It is non-negotiable. We provide an environment where Team Members can flourish, be successful, and feel a part of a family. This recognition is proof that we don’t just ‘talk the talk.’ It brings me such joy to come to work every day and be among like-minded people who focus on our mission ‘To serve so that others are empowered to thrive,’ whether it’s serving a fellow Team Member, a buyer, or our community at large.”
Top Work Place winners are identified solely based on employee feedback gathered through the Energage employee engagement survey. More than 2,200 companies participated nationwide, and winners were chosen based on the results of surveys taken over 12 months in 2023.
Mungo Homes has been twice-recognized on the state level as a Top Work Place, but this is the first time Nationally ranked. Representing the company at the awards ceremony in New York this week, were Vice President of HR, Anna Newell, and Missi Peterson, Team Member Experience Manager.
Career at Mungo Homes
It’s not uncommon to start your career at Mungo Homes in one position and, sometime later, find yourself intrigued by an internal job posting in another department or, even, in a different Market! In fact, a number of Team Members have changed career paths all while staying with the company. We encourage career growth through training and promoting from within, which is just one reason why Mungo boasts of Team Members who have enjoyed a tenure of 10, 20 or, even, 30 years!
We like to have fun!
We encourage gatherings among Team Members and departments because we believe that fellowship and camaraderie promote healthier working relationships. Fishing, golf, a day at the lake, and ax throwing are just a few of our favorites!
Mungo Family Tradition
In keeping with the Mungo family tradition of “giving back,” the Mungo Homes Foundation was established in 2021. With the sole mission of improving the communities where Mungo builds, the Foundation provides economic, educational, health, housing, and emergency hardship support to individuals in need due to circumstances beyond their control. A portion of each home sold is contributed to the Foundation and is invested in the local community of that home.
In addition, all Team Members are annually granted 16 hours of paid volunteer time off. Many of these hours are spent volunteering during the Week of Service each spring, and the Week of Giving each December.
TeamShare Rewards for Years of Service
Mungo Homes is proud to offer TeamShare, a plan for Team Members to share in net profits as well as be rewarded for long-term service to the company. All full-time Team Members — both hourly and salaried – employed by January 1st are eligible for TeamShare for that calendar year. The better the company performs, the more is available to be distributed to each Team Member!
In addition to TeamShare, Mungo Homes offers substantial earning potential with most Team Members eligible for a generous bonus program, which is an envy of the industry.
