About Homes for HOPE
Homes for HOPE partners with the building industry in connecting their corporate philanthropy to job-creating and dignifying solutions that help families around the world overcome all forms of poverty. They've developed multiple ways to support the building community in leveraging generosity to give millions of people living in some of the toughest places on earth access to a safe place to save, business loans, and training that equips them to provide for themselves and find lasting hope.
Honoring a Legacy of Compassion and Determination
The name "Michael's House" honors the memory and legacy of company founder, the late Michael J. Mungo who grew up in abject poverty, put himself through the University of South Carolina, and found success in the land development and home building business. Mr. Mungo worked quietly and tirelessly throughout his life to ensure that those less fortunate were afforded life's basic needs: food, shelter, and healthcare.
